This session will explore a counselling approach that helps people find the internal motivation to change behaviours. The listening and communication skills involved in Motivational Interviewing need to be practised, but it’s easy to do - you just need to be conscious. They can be practised with friends and family as well as at work and are even transferable to the dating scene or to better personal relationships!

This session will explore how you can maximise the use of social media, like twitter and LinkedIn, to raise your profile, share best practice and connect with the nursing community to enhance your studies and future career. This session is an opportunity for student nurses and newly qualified nurses to learn more about what to expect on preceptorships. From what to ask a potential employer about the support they offer, through to exploring the realities of the job from day one. Meet our NT rising star to learn about their experience and advice on advancing in your role.
